About

Have you ever felt like your fitness progress is too slow or that your hard work isn’t paying off the way it should?

Hello!

I’m Christopher Johnny—a chemist passionate about chemical biology and fitness. Growing up overweight and far from athletic, I admired the physiques of athletes and healthy individuals, but it felt like something I could never achieve. In college, I discovered a love for the gym, and for six years, I trained consistently. I made some changes, but it wasn’t the transformation I had hoped for.

During graduate school, I decided to take a scientific approach to fitness, focusing on nutrition and a caloric deficit. In just over one year, I lost 50 pounds and finally achieved the “look” I had been chasing. The benefits went beyond appearance: I felt stronger, had more energy, and experienced fewer aches and pains.

Now, after years of refining my approach through phases of cutting and bulking, I’ve learned that fitness isn’t just about losing fat or building muscle—it’s about gaining confidence, health, and a better quality of life.

That’s why I started Lose and Gain—a blog and community to help you take charge of your health and fitness. Whether you want to lose weight, gain strength, or simply feel better in your body, you’ll find practical tips, evidence-based advice, and encouragement here.

Are you ready to start your journey? Let’s Lose and Gain together!
